Fluke Remote Measurement Unit

The Fluke Remote Measurement Unit (FRMU) provides quality, reliability, and flexibility of a lightweight and adaptable data acquisition and control unit. All your measurement and control needs can be answered by combining the RMU with other equipment to operate a desired control system.
The FRMU is a remote data acquisition unit using the FLUKE® NetDAQ™ . The unit is adaptive to most environments making it easy for the Ethernet based FLUKE® NetDAQ™ to be used in most industry applications by standardizing the I/O and having all of it accessible from one panel. The standard FRMU (FRMU-01) offers twenty thermocouple inputs with channels 16 through 20 being duplicated to individual connectors for voltage type measurements (i.e., transducers, strain gauges, etc.). A 12 VDC power supply is included for supplying power for external transducers on the front panel. Channels 13-15 are duplicated to one connector for connection to a volt, amp, watt, and watt-hour measurement unit that is also offered by Hooks & Associates, Inc. All eight discrete I/O channels are available from two connectors with channels 0-3 on one and channels 4-7 on the other. A 5 VDC power supply is included for excitation of these digital control inputs for relay switching. Each FRMU is supplied with a power supply cord, which connects to the power inlet connector with an additional power jumper cable to supply power to any additional FRMU’s. Data acquisition is acquired through a standard Ethernet network. Many other options are also available for connector configuration to meet specific applications.
The interface connector panel utilizes watertight connectors for transducer, Ethernet, VAW/Whr unit, switch unit, and main power interfacing. Harsh environments are no problem for the FRMU by having the enclosure internally sealed. Custom built connector configurations are also offered by H&A.
Rugged Enclosure Design
The uniquely designed enclosure contains two major pieces which consist of a corner and flat extrusion that enables the enclosure to be very rugged once assembled. The aluminum extrusions are black anodized to provide a durable and corrosion resistant enclosure. Once assembled and sealed the enclosure provides a NEMA 4 or 12 enclosure providing that watertight connectors are used on the interface panel.
The enclosure includes special dovetail tracks that allows multiple optional units to be mounted to all sides of the enclosure. Multiple enclosures of varying sizes can be interlocked together including the; volt, amp, watt, and watt hour (VAW-01) and power switch unit (PSU-04) offered by H&A. A wall mounting plate allows quick installation and removal without tools. Handles and isolation feet are also available.
Hooks & Associates, Inc. also offers a complete engineering department and fabrication shop to design and outfit enclosures and/or panels per your specifications. Panels can be configured with connectors, switches, displays etc. to meet your requirements.
